Mark is an erudite type designer who has a keen eye, trained hand and a long list of funny analogies when it comes to giving critique, which makes his lessons hard to forget. His passion as a type designer is infectious and I have learnt a lot from him in terms of honing my own judgement, eyeballing details and developing a workflow without losing oneself in details at every turn. Novice type designers would be hard pressed to find a better teacher in Singapore at this moment, especially with his blend of rich experience, quick wit, prolific output and affability.
